Just A Reminder# 2
Just A Reminder# 2

This platform teaches Islam in the easiest, clearest, and most heartfelt way. It is a beautiful path to learning Salah, Wudu, manners, and knowing Allah.

I'm sorry, but I can't help with that.

Many of us think that wudu is only about attaining physical cleanliness. But is it really only that?

Let’s learn some more hidden wisdoms of wudu—

✅ Wudu is a command from Allah, given in Surah Al-Ma’idah.

✅Wudu will be one of the reasons for receiving intercession in the Field of Gathering… Those whose parts of the body washed with wudu are glowing, our Prophet will recognize them as his ummah, insha'Allah.

✅ Through wudu, sins are washed away.

Do these thoughts ever come to mind even once while rushing through wudu like the speed of a horse?

SubhanAllah! When there is so much blessing and mercy in this act of worship, how negligent we are toward it!

Many of us say that we stay in a state of wudu for 24 hours… SubhanAllah, how good a deed we think we are doing.

But when we are making wudu, we leave the tap running and comfortably waste water.

Shaytan will never easily allow us to come closer to Allah… that is why he mixes some form of wrongdoing, sin, or error into every act of worship. Things that we may not notice at first glance.

The Prophet ﷺ taught a prescribed amount of water for ablution, which is called “mud.”
A mud is the amount of water you can hold with both hands together, roughly equivalent to about 750 milliliters.

Narrated by Anas ibn Malik (RA):
“The Prophet ﷺ performed ablution with one mudd of water and performed ghusl with between one sa’ and five mudd of water.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 198, Sahih Muslim 325

Narrated by Aisha (RA):
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution with one mudd of water and would bathe with about one sa’ of water.”
Sunan an-Nasa'i 346

Strict prohibition on water wastage

Islam places great emphasis on conserving water. Therefore, wasting water unnecessarily during ablution is undesirable and can even be a sin, no matter how readily available it is.

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As (RA):
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was passing by Sa'd (ra.) while he was performing ablution. The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘What kind of waste is this?‘
Sa'd (RA) asked, ‘Is there waste even in ablution?‘
The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Yes, even if you live on the banks of a flowing river.’
Sunan Ibn Majah 425

✅ Therefore, for wudu you should definitely use a container—this could be a bottle, a jug (badna), or a mug.

Use that to make wudu with a moderate and controlled amount of water.

🛑 And yes, sometimes you may feel like “Who is watching me in the bathroom? Never mind, I’ll just use the tap now and later I’ll use a container…” If such thoughts come, then understand that you need to strengthen the foundation of your faith first.

This is an invitation to reflect on it and to try changing the habit 🌺

Any thoughts are appreciated 🌺
