Allah — such a simple name. It requires no effort to pronounce. The lips do not even need to move. Even if someone’s entire body is paralyzed, they can still call upon their beloved Allah by simply moving their tongue.
Allah is the Supreme Being and the Creator of the entire universe.
Allah is the Supreme Being of this entire universe. Through the Holy Qur’an, He has revealed to us the message of truth, which guides us to live a meaningful life in this world and achieve success in the Hereafter. When the understanding of our Creator and His identity becomes firmly established in our hearts, we are able to understand His commands more clearly, His prohibitions become meaningful, and we become capable of worshipping Him in the right way.
In short, we will learn about Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
- Why do we need to know Allah?
Knowing Allah is the most important responsibility of a human being. Without knowing Allah, the purpose of life, the right path, and its ultimate outcome all remain unclear.
1.We have been created to know Allah.
Allah Ta’ala says—
“And I did not create mankind and jinn except to worship Me.”
(Surah Adh-Dhariyat, 51:56)
To worship properly, we must first know who our Lord is, what His attributes are, and what He wants from us.
2. When we know Allah, the purpose of life becomes clear.
When a person knows Allah, they come to understand—
Who I am
Why I have come into this world.
How to live a life that pleases Allah.
Then life is no longer aimless.
3. Knowing Allah is the foundation of faith (Iman).
The first and greatest condition of faith (Iman) is—faith in Allah..
Without knowing Allah, faith becomes weak, doubts arise, and there is a risk of going astray.
4. When we know Allah, fear and hope become properly balanced.
The one who knows Allah—
He fears Allah, but does not fall into despair.
He hopes for Allah’s mercy, but does not take sins lightly.
This balance keeps a person on the straight path.
5. When we know Allah, humility and devotion (khushu’) come in worship.
When a person knows Allah’s names, attributes, and power—
Their heart becomes focused in prayer (Salah).
Their supplications (du‘a) become sincere and heartfelt.
Worship burden is not peace became
6. Knowing Allah shapes a person’s character.
Knowing Allah makes a person—
honest
patient
keeps them away from wrongdoing
Because he knows—Allah sees and knows everything..
7. The key to success in the Hereafter.
To know Allah means—
Obeying His commands.
Avoiding His prohibitions.
This is the path to Paradise (Jannah).
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said—
The most important and honorable act is to acquire knowledge about Allah. There is nothing more noble than this on the face of the earth.
