If we want to take true lessons from Islam, we first need to know— whose Ummah we are.
We are the Ummah of that great Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, whom Allah has sent as a mercy to all mankind.
Knowing him, understanding his life, and following him is extremely important. Because Allah's Deen has reached us through him. He taught us the Quran, and he showed us with his own life how to practice Islam
If we want to know Islam correctly, then we need to know:
- Who he was
- How he lived his life
- How he worshipped
- How he behaved with people
- How he loved Allah
It is through loving him, following his Sunnah, and taking lessons from his life that a person can understand the true beauty of Islam."
Nowadays, many people around the world love celebrities, athletes, or actors very much. They dress like them, follow their words, and try to become like them. But we Muslims know that the greatest role model in our lives and the one to follow is our beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
Holy Quran Allah said:
- “For you in the Messenger of Allah is an excellent example.”
Surah Al-Ahzab 33:21
Meaning, if we want to be like the Prophet ﷺ, then we can become people of good and excellent character. - “Say, ‘If you love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you.’”
Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:31
Here Allah Himself has said that if we follow the Prophet ﷺ, Allah will love us. SubhanAllah
- In an authentic hadith, the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
None of you will be a true believer until he loves me more than his own father, mother, children, and all mankind Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim - He also said:
Whoever loves me will be with me on the Day of Judgment. Tirmidhi
Suppose you have a favorite football player— like Messi or Ronaldo. You love to watch them play, you wear their jerseys, and you want to score goals like them. You really like to know any news about them, don't you? But how much do we know about the one who is our greatest Prophet, the beloved friend of Allah, without whose intercession we cannot go to Paradise? How much do we follow him? Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala has sent him as our role model. Only by walking on the path shown by him can we become close to Allah and enter Paradise. Therefore, learning about the beloved Prophet is extremely essential for us.
