Treating one's neighbor kindly is an important part of Islam.

My dear children,
Islam doesn't just teach worship and prayer, but also about the people around us, especially… With the neighbor It also teaches how to behave. The same rules apply to all neighbors, whether Muslim or non-Muslim.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
Jibril (peace be upon him) advised me so much about the rights of a neighbor that I thought the neighbor would soon be granted the right to inherit from the property as well.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

This proves how high a neighbor's status is in Islam.

Allah, Glorified and Exalted, says in the Holy Qur'an:

“Whoever believes in Allah and in the Last Day should be kind to their neighbor.”
(Surah An-Nahl, 16:90)

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

“Whoever keeps his neighbor safe has perfected his faith.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

May you always treat your neighbors kindly, politely, and with compassion.

Remember

1. Be kind and humble to your neighbor.

Speak with a smile. A smiling face and polite behavior win people's hearts.

2. Stand by them in their suffering

If a neighbor is sick, in trouble, or needs help, one should help as much as possible.
This is a major Sunnah of Islam.

3. Never cause them pain.

Making loud noise at home, parking one's car in someone else's space, quarreling or disturbing their peace, and causing trouble for any reason are strictly forbidden in Islam.

4. Will share a portion of the food.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: When you cook, make extra gravy and give it to your neighbor.” (Muslim)

If you cook something good at home, you'll send it to your neighbor's house.

5. Respect their rights

– Protect their privacy
Do not enter anyone's home without permission.
– You will not reveal any of their secrets, meaning you will not tell anyone else.

6. Welcome new neighbors when they arrive.

If they are Muslim, they should greet with a smile and introduce themselves. They should be the first to speak. Even if they are non-Muslim, they should welcome them with a smile.

7. If someone seems to be in trouble, check on them.

“Auntie, are you okay?”
“Do you need any help?”
These small things have a big impact.

8. A neighbor has rights—whether they are Muslim or not.

Islam teaches compassion, respect, and dignity toward people of all religions.

A good relationship with your neighbor is not just courtesy; it is a form of worship and a great opportunity to advance on the path to Paradise.
