Supplication (Dua) for parents.

Parents are among the greatest blessings in our lives. Therefore, making dua for them is our responsibility, an act of worship, and a path to Paradise. As long as they are alive, serve them, speak to them kindly, and keep them happy. Many people have lost their parents. Some have only one parent left—either a mother or a father. The true value of parents is often realized when they are no longer there.

Allah does not turn away the supplication made for one’s parents; He surely accepts it. So never forget to make dua for them every day. Teach this dua to your children as well. Whatever you are learning now, teach it to your children too.

Do you know why making dua for parents is so important?

In Islam, the status of parents is so high that Allah سبحانه وتعالى mentions fulfilling the rights of parents immediately after worshipping Him alone.

 যতই আমরা তাদের যত্ন করি, সেবা করি, তা কখনোই তাদের প্রতিদান দেয়া হয় না। তাই আল্লাহ আমাদেরকে সবসময় তাদের জন্য দোয়া করতে বলেছেন।

• The pleasure of parents means the pleasure of Allah.
  
• Neglecting one’s parents is a major sin.
  
• তাদের জন্য দোয়া করলে তার  সর্বদা কবুল হয়, বিশেষ করে যদি তারা মারা গিয়ে  থাকেন, তখন তাদের দোয়া করা তাদের জন্য সবচেয়ে বড় উপহার।
  

আল্লাহ সুবহানাহু তাআলা পবিত্র কুরআনে সুস্পষ্টভাবে বলেছেন বাবা-মায়ের প্রতি নরম ব্যবহার, সম্মান এবং কখনো কষ্ট না দেওয়া।

Read this verse carefully. Also teach it to your children. 

 “And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him and that you show kindness to parents. If one or both of them reach old age in your care, do not say to them even ‘uff’, nor scold them, but speak to them with honorable words.” (Surah Al-Isra 17:23)

This verse proves that—

• বাবা–মায়ের সামনে  সামান্য বিরক্তিও করতে নেই। “উফ” বলতেও নিষেধ করা হয়েছে।
  
• Speaking to them in a loud or harsh tone is forbidden (haram).
  
• One must always be humble, calm, and kind in their presence.
  

******এইদুয়া দুইটি তোমাদের জীবনের ৩ বেলা খাবার গ্রহনের মতই বানিয়ে নিবে । প্রতিদিন এই ২টি দুয়া অবশ্যই অবশ্যই পড়বে । কখনো ভুলবে না। মনে রেখো, এই দুয়া যার জন্য পড়বে শুধু তারাই যে লাভবান হবে তা কিন্তু না, যে পড়বে আল্লাহ তার জন্য আগে কবুল করেন। সুবহানআল্লাহ

1. Dua for parents:

رَّبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
Pronunciation: “Rabbir hamhuma kama rabbayani sagheera.”
Meaning: “My Lord, have mercy upon them as they raised me when I was small.”

This is one of the best duas to recite regularly, every day, in any situation. Allah never rejects this supplication.

2. Dua for parents:

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ

Pronunciation: Rabbana-ghfir li wa li walidayya wa lil-mu’minina yawma yaqoomul-hisab.

Meaning in English: “Our Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and all the believers on the Day when the حساب (account) will be established.”

These two are very beautiful and powerful duas. By reciting them even once, you are seeking forgiveness for yourself, your parents, and all your Muslim brothers and sisters.
