Hell is a place that Allah, the Exalted, has prepared for them.,
Those who disobey His commands, commit injustice, disbelieve, and remain immersed in sinful ways without repentance.
It is not merely fire but a punishment beyond the reach of human imagination. The mere mention of Hell is a mercy from Allah, so that people may turn away from the wrong path and prepare for the Hereafter.

1) The fire of Hell is the most intense.

Allah says, “The fire of Hell is a severe punishment.” Surah Al-Baqarah 2:24

2) The fire of Hell will burn a person's skin, and new skin will be created.

“Whenever they are burned, I will give them new skin so that they may continue to feel the punishment.” Surah An-Nisa 4:56

3) The food of Hell

“Their food will be the Zakkum tree.” Surah As-Saffat 37:62-66
If a person eats the fruit of this tree, their insides will burn.

4) The drink of Hell

“They will be given boiling water that will tear their insides apart.” Surah Muhammad 47:15

5) Hell will be seething with rage at humanity.

“When Hell sees them before it, it will be seething with rage.” Surah Al-Furqan 25:12


Description of Hell in the Hadith

The fire of Hell is 70 times hotter than the fire of this world.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The fire of Hell is seventy times hotter than the fire of this world.” Sahih Bukhari

2) A stone thrown into Hell doesn't reach the bottom even in 70 years.

The Prophet ﷺ said, “If a stone were thrown into Hell, it would take seventy years to reach the bottom.” Sahih Muslim

3) The lightest punishment of Hell

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The person who receives the lightest punishment in Hell will have embers of fire placed under his feet, causing his brain to boil.” Sahih Muslim


Why is it important to know about Hell?

  • To stay away from sin
  • To experience the fear and majesty of Allah
  • For increasing prayer, good deeds, and piety
  • To guide the life of the world onto the right path
  • To prepare for the hereafter

Allah has mentioned Hell to warn us, so that we do not choose the wrong path.
