{"id":960,"date":"2026-01-04T10:47:53","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T10:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/afraishmum.com\/?post_type=topics&#038;p=960"},"modified":"2026-03-29T00:41:46","modified_gmt":"2026-03-29T00:41:46","slug":"how-to-give-zakat","status":"publish","type":"topics","link":"https:\/\/afraishmum.com\/en_us\/topics\/%e0%a6%af%e0%a6%be%e0%a6%95%e0%a6%be%e0%a6%a4-%e0%a6%95%e0%a7%80%e0%a6%ad%e0%a6%be%e0%a6%ac%e0%a7%87-%e0%a6%a6%e0%a6%bf%e0%a6%a4%e0%a7%87-%e0%a6%b9%e0%a6%af%e0%a6%bc\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Give Zakat"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It is better to uplift one person into stability than to give a small amount to a hundred people.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main purpose of Zakat is not just temporary assistance to the poor, but to help rebuild and empower them so they can become self-sufficient in the future and earn on their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) said\u2014<br><strong>\u201cCharity is that which makes people self-reliant.\u201d<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong> \u2014 <em>hadidth(Baihaki)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Means that<br>Instead of giving 200 Taka each to 100 people, giving it to one poor person<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>By open a shop<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By give any work<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To buy rickshaw, van<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Business capital.<br>These are more beneficial and closer to the Sunnah, because through this the person may no longer remain a recipient of Zakat in the future, but instead become a giver of Zakat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>It is forbidden (haram) to be arrogant about Zakat, because it is the right of the poor.<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rather, when giving Zakat, we are not doing a favor to anyone; rather, we are fulfilling an obligation and giving people their rightful due. <strong>we are simply returning their rightful share.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Holy Quran Allah said:<br><strong>\u201cIndeed, in your wealth there is a specified right for the poor.\u201d<\/strong>\u2014 Surah Adh-Dhariyat (51:19)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So by giving Zakat\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>we should not humiliate the poor, look down upon them, or treat them as inferior.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>showing off one\u2019s charity.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>taking photos and publicly promoting it (to gain attention or praise).<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insulting or hurting someone\u2019s dignity after giving Zakat (by reminding them of it) is strictly forbidden.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is not appropriate to give Zakat with the intention of showing off or gaining attention through photos or public display.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No expectation of return or reward from people should be attached to it.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No one should be humiliated or made to feel ashamed.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respect must be maintained towards them.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) said\u2014 <strong>\u201cDo not harm or humiliate anyone through your charity.\u201d<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong> \u2014 <em>Hahih Muslim<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>In short\u2014<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Zakat is not for people (to boast or control), rather it is\u2014 <strong>Command of Allah<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Zakat was made obligatory in the 2nd year of Hijrah.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Zakat is not charity\u2014it is the right of the poor. <strong>a rightful due (a fixed right).<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Qur\u2019an, Surah At-Tawbah (9:60), Allah mentions the 8 categories of people who are eligible to receive Zakat.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By giving Zakat, in people\u2019s lives\u2014 <strong>bringing stability is better.<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is prohibited to show arrogance or pride because of giving Zakat.<\/p>","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":1464,"menu_order":59,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"categoires":[114],"class_list":["post-960","topics","type-topics","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoires-zakat-charity"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/afraishmum.com\/en_us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics\/960","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/afraishmum.com\/en_us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/topics"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/afraishmum.com\/en_us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/topics"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/afraishmum.com\/en_us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/afraishmum.com\/en_us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/1464"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/afraishmum.com\/en_us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=960"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"categoires","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/afraishmum.com\/en_us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categoires?post=960"}],"curies":[{"name":"WordPress","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
