Intention means \"to intend\" or \"to fix the purpose of an action in the mind.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is not mandatory to utter the intention verbally; it is an action of the heart. That means before starting Salah, you will firmly resolve in your mind that you are performing this Salah solely for Allah.<\/p>\n\n\n

I bear witness that there is no true deity worthy of worship except Allah.

Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathira wala yaghfirudh-dhunuba illa anta faghfirli maghfiratam-min 'indika warhamni innaka antal-ghafurur-rahim<\/p>\n
Meaning\u2014O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly, and no one forgives sins except You, so forgive me with forgiveness from You and have mercy on me, indeed You are the Forgiving, the Merciful<\/p>\n

Allahumma inni au\u2019udhu bika min \u2018adhabil-qabri wa min \u2018adhabi-jahannama wa min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamati wa min sharri fitnatil-masihid-dajjal<\/p>\n
