If the pillars are weak, the entire building becomes weak. Similarly, these five pillars of Islam are the core foundation of a Muslim's faith (Iman) and actions (Amal).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"93\" data-end=\"301\">The Prophet Muhammad (\ufdfa) said:<\/p>\n<p>\"Islam is built upon five pillars.\"<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-section-id=\"po7ceq\" data-start=\"107\" data-end=\"161\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Sahih al-Bukhari<\/span><\/span> : Hadith No. 8<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"20jwtz\" data-start=\"162\" data-end=\"217\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Sahih Muslim<\/span><\/span> : Hadith No. 16<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1. Faith (Iman)<br \/>\nMeaning: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad (\ufdfa) is the Prophet of Allah.<br \/>\nThe first condition of being a Muslim is to believe in one Allah and to follow His sent Messenger.<\/p>\n<p>2. Prayer<br \/>\nMeaning: Performing five daily prayers for the sake of Allah. Salah is the most beloved act of worship to Allah.<\/p>\n<p>3. Jakat<br \/>\nMeaning: Giving a fixed portion of one\u2019s wealth for the sake of Allah.<\/p>\n<p>4. Sawm (Fasting)<\/p>\n<p>Refraining from food, drink, and evil deeds from dawn (Subah Sadiq) until sunset during the month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n<p>5. Hajj<br \/>\nPerforming Hajj in Makkah once in a lifetime if one has the financial and physical capability.
