What is Islam?

Islam is a complete way of life given by Allah, Glory be to Him, whose core meaning is to fully submit oneself to Allah, obey His commands, and live life according to the path He has shown.

Islam means resigning oneself to the will of Allah.
It is to surrender oneself completely to Allah.
What is meant by complete submission?
Complete submission to Allah means:
1. Submission in Aqeedah (Belief/Faith)
- Allah is the only Rabb (Lord).
- He is the sole Creator, Sustainer, and Legislator.
- His decree alone is absolute and final.
2. Submission in Ibadah (Worship)
- Performing all acts of worship—such as Salah (prayer), Sawm (fasting), Zakat (alms-giving), and Hajj (pilgrimage)—solely for Allah.
- Directing all Du'a (supplication), Tawakkul (reliance/trust), Khawf (fear), and Mahabbah (love) exclusively toward Allah.
3. Submission in Obedience to Commands
- Fulfilling everything that Allah has commanded.
- Abstaining from everything that He has forbidden.
